About Me
Hi! I’m Lisa and I’m so excited to meet you, Mama!
If you found your way to my site, you’re probably a mom of littles as well! Yay – I’m so glad you’re here!
Being a mom of littles is so fun and exciting but it sure has its not-so-great moments too. (And that’s putting it lightly sometimes, if you know what I mean!)
These early years are when we see a HUGE amount of growth and development. Our toddler’s and preschooler’s learning just seems to explode exponentially – it’s SUCH an awesome thing to witness! But they are also experiencing a massive learning curve in their social and emotional learning, navigating big feelings around SO many things.
As moms of littles, we are doing SO much as we help them navigate this stage of their lives. It’s a lot and sometimes it just feels like it’s actually too much. (Friend, you’re SO not alone!)
Maybe you feel like you’re in the deep end you have no idea where to start as a new mama. Or maybe you’re a seasoned mama but the latest addition to your family is challenging your usual go-to strategies. Or maybe you just realized that this is an important stage where you still have A LOT of opportunity to impact and you want to make the most of it.
I want to support you on this journey, providing you with the encouragement and tools you need to feel fully equipped AND empowered to make the most of these early years. Because I know how much impact learning and development can have on setting your child up for success later on.
How do I know?
Being a mom to my 3 daughters (all under 7 years old as I write this) has opened my eyes to SO many things.
But it really changed my perspective as a teacher!
I’ve been teaching primary school (elementary and middle or Grade 4 – 7) for over 10 years. I’ve been able to work with so many different children and families and I’ve gained so much knowledge and understanding about how children learn best and what challenges they face that create barriers to their success in school. Supporting these children and their parents has been an incredible privilege and has equipped me to support you better as well.
Becoming a mom and experiencing more about early learning and development showed me just how very important these years are for success in school later on!
Reflecting back on the children I’d taught who had success in school, and those who struggled (as well as leaning into what I’d learnt in my teaching and psychology degrees). It became clear that SO many of the challenges older kids had could have been mitigated, even prevented, if they had the correct support earlier on!
My Vision
And that is what compelled me to start Learn With Confidence.
Because I know for many moms, knowing how to support their child’s early learning and development can feel really daunting or, they’re overwhelmed with the number of resources out there. There are many obstacles that stop us from jumping in!
I want to make it SUPER easy for you to
- understand how your child’s brain learns and what developmental stages they’re going through
- know what fine motor, gross motor, sensory, cognitive, social and emotional skills to work on and how
- get access to resources that are easy to use and actually develop the right skills in the right way
